Wildhorse Ranch Rescue is an organization whose mission is to save equines from abuse, neglect, slaughter and premature death and provide a safe place for them to live for the remainder of their lives.
Blind Ronnie's House of Blues will host a Blues Jam Open Mic at the Wildhorse Ranch Rescue annual Halloween Fundraiser on November 1st, 2008.

Not only is this a fun way to spend Halloween, but when you meet the horses you will understand what a good thing you've done supporting this wonderful cause! A Special Note to Musicians: Wildhorse Ranch Rescue appreciates your participation in their fund raiser. As their way of saying thank-you, anyone signing up for the open mic will have the $12 admission waived and will receive a coupon good for one free drink (see "Chicago" JohnnyVegas for your drink coupon). To avoid confusion, these offers are extended to actual participants only; your entourage is welcome, but will have to pay to get in (remember, this is a fund raiser, a very good cause and a fun event; it is well worth the price of admission). In addition, feel free to bring and distribute any promotional materials for yourself or your band. You may also sell CD's etc. and keep all proceeds from your sales. Be sure to promote upcoming performances and your web presence. This is an opportunity to introduce yourself to people that may not have seen you before; make the most of the opportunity! The stage is located in close proximity to the barn. Many of the horses are recovering from injuries and excessively loud noise (especially percussion and bass) can excite the horses, potentially resulting in injury. No one wants that, least of all the very people trying to raise money to help them (that's you!), so please think of this as your opportunity to showcase your ability to play softly and use dynamics to add flavor to your performance. |
