Blind Ronnie's House of Blues - Gigs: Thursday Night Blues Jam

An open letter from Blind Ronnie's House of Blues .....
TGI Friday's in North Scottsdale informed us that they are closing their doors, effective immediately.

That means until further notice, the Blind Ronnie's House of Blues Thursday Night Blues Jam is cancelled.

We are actively seeking a new venue in which to host a blues jam, so please stay-tuned for the latest updates. You can also monitor the situation at www.brhob.com/gigs.html.

Blind Ronnie's House of Blues would like to take a moment to thank a few folks:

TGI Friday's North Scottsdale was our home for over a year. The management and staff of that establishment were exemplary hosts. We will miss working with you and from the bottom of our hearts we thank each and every one of you for making us, our fellow musicians and our audience feel welcome every week.

Speaking of fellow musicians, it is hard to have a blues jam without jammers. We certainly had some of Phoenix's finest musicians grace us with some stellar performances in our one-year-plus engagement. We hope you will think back fondly of your time spent with us at TGI Friday's North Scottsdale and when we occasionally made a scheduling mistake, please know it was an honest one. Running a blues jam is an art form, not a science; there is no magic formula that is always equitable to all players. We did our best; some days our best was better than on other days, but it always was our best. When we find our new home, you will always be welcome there.

It takes a lot of work to build a jam. We didn't do it alone; we had a lot of help. We'd like to recognize the contributions of our musical consultants: Mike Bova, Charlie Bulla, Devo Carrillo and Chuck Peterson. Our hope for this jam, from the outset was to build something special for musicians and audience alike. We hired these gentlemen to help implement that; their contributions exceeded our expectations. Thank you gentlemen for sharing your talent with us; you played a major role in the success that was our Thursday Night jam.

Last but not least, we want to thank our audience. If it is hard to have a jam without jammers, it would be pointless to have one without you. In the digital age, it is becoming increasingly rare to find people who understand the value of live music and the importance of supporting it. The Blues, especially, is a form of music that is really best experienced live. You get that; you understand it. We hope you appreciate the fact that without people like you in this world, the Blues would be a dead idiom; quaint and passé. Musicians may provide the spark, but is the audience that fans the flames. Thank you so much for keeping the Blues' home-fires burning!

As we said at the start, we are actively seeking a new venue in which to host a Blues jam. You will be the first people we tell when we find our new home. Once we get moved in, we'll lay out the welcome mat for you and we will have one *HECK* of a housewarming party.

Till then we remain, as always, your pals -
